Current projects
Swindon Energy Project
aims to tackle fuel poverty and reduce climate change by providing home energy saving advice to the residents of Swindon particularly targeting young parents and young people.
Past projects
The Salisbury Affordable Warmth campaign was a six-month project which started in September 2008 and aimed to provide practical advice on heating the home to residents of the Salisbury district.
The Greener Living Programme was a six month project that started in October 2008 and was carried out through a series of ten road shows around Wiltshire in 2009, accompanied by the ‘Greener Guide to Living’ booklet.
The Sunshine Healthy Living project provided targeted Energy efficiency advice and information to households in rural southwest Wiltshire in order to help stamp out fuel poverty.
As part of the Switch On Programme, the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust set up the Energy Club in 2004 which grew to nearly 300 members in its two years of running.
Switch On Swindon
ran a year long competition, sponsored by RWE Innogy to find Swindon’s most energy efficient community.
Health Through Warmth
aimed to seek out people suffering from ill health due to cold, damp homes, and to help them access the financial assistance and advice they need to stay warmer and healthier at home.
