Ms Carole Lehman

Carole Lehman, WWT

Carole Lehman is a research specialist with a thorough understanding of survey design and interpretation, gained from over 30 years’ experience in qualitative and quantitative research. To this she has added significant management skills, both at project and team leadership level.

Carole has a wide client portfolio covering the key players within Government departments and blue chip companies, including the DfT, TfL, CfIT, Virgin Atlantic, Network Rail, RSSB, RAIB, ATOC, London Underground, Highways Agency, and several train operators. Non-transport research clients include BT, Cadbury Trebor Bassett, and Unilever.

She has assisted in revenue generation by aiding marketing teams to maximise return on investment in developing new products and brand values. This has involved both qualitative and quantitative studies – examining the drivers/barriers of change and loyalty. She has directed several large research programmes for DfT, most notably the recent consultation on a third runway at Heathrow, along with monitoring cabotage from foreign HGVs and providing benchmark data on the daily habits of White Van Man. Carole has also worked on policy initiatives, especially relating to sustainability, as illustrated by work on graduated VED, colour coding of carbon emission levels on new vehicles, and attitudes towards London’s new Low emission zone.

Carole has developed a keen interest in the Rail sector, with a holistic appreciation of all stakeholders, obtaining an objective passenger perspective complimented by the inter-relationships of Network Rail with TOCs/FOCs, suppliers, journalists, industry bodies and third party funders.
