Ruth Clarricoates

Ruth Clarricoates, WWT

Ruth Clarricoates manages the Wessex Chalk Streams Project, which focuses on restoring the River Avon including tackling the problem of invasive plant species. She also coordinates the River Monitors Group.

Ruth graduated from the University of Birmingham in Environmental Science and went on to do an MSc in Aquatic Resource Management in 2003. Since then she has worked for the Environment Agency on the Water Framework Directive looking at improving water quality in the UK.

She spent a number of years working as a volunteer in her spare time for Avon Wildlife Trust and on a placement in 2008 before joining us in January 2009.
