Learn how to identify labiates and scrophulariaceae - with Sharon Pilkington, Wiltshire's County Recorder for Vascular Plants.

The course will be held at Langford Lakes Nature Reserve. Two courses are being offered for labiates and 'scrophs' to cover species found within different habitats.  Although participants are not expected to book onto both dates, attending the courses as a pair would provide a more comprehensive understanding of these two families.

Most of the day will be spent out in the field, but there will be classroom sessions focusing on specimen identification and the use of keys. Each day will run from 10am until 3.30pm.

* Please note that we will be focusing on species found within the pre-2010 taxonomic classification of the scrophulariaceae, i.e. including speedwells, bartsias, toadflaxes, etc, which have since moved to different families.

The cost for each course will be £40 per person.  Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided, but you will need to bring a packed lunch.
