Celebrate, commemorate and cherish Traditionally we pay our respects through the gift of flowers but sadly cut flowers are short-lived. Losing a loved one is hard, but giving in memory is a wonderful way to celebrate, commemorate and cherish their life. As flowers and cards fade away, your gift will have a lasting impact that will bloom year after year. A donation to Wiltshire Wildlife Trust will help to protect the spring blossom and bluebells in ancient woodlands, and the orchids and fragrant flowers in summer meadows. It will help ensure a future for the countryside and wildlife that your loved one knew and enjoyed for the generations of tomorrow. It is a lasting gift that will bloom year after year – a gift full of hope for the future. Memorials on our nature reserves We recognise that many people hold a particular local nature reserve dear to their heart. It is, therefore, fitting for that person to be remembered in some way at that special place. The following memorials are available on our nature reserves: benches, trees, bird/bat boxes, gates and gateposts, planting schemes (wildflowers and bulbs). All requests are considered on an individual basis. It is important to remember that our nature reserves are not only enjoyed by a wide range of users but are special because of their wildlife. We, therefore, ensure that memorials are managed for the benefit of both wildlife and people. For further details, please read our Gifts in Memory Policy To apply for a memorial on our nature reserves, please complete our Gift in Memory Application Form. This can be completed online here or downloaded and posted to Wiltshire Wildlife Trust, Elm Tree Court, Long Street, Devizes SN10 1NJ. Scattering and Burial of Ashes: We often hear from visitors to our nature reserves about how much they enjoy and value them, as they can enjoy a sense of peace there, important both in life and after death. Requests for the committal of a loved one’s ashes on our reserves have become more frequent in recent years, and for this reason, we have some simple guidelines. We’re generally happy to agree to the committal of ashes on a reserve, although we do suggest that the burial of ashes is preferable to scatter them. If you are interested in the scattering or burial of your loved one’s ashes, please contact us on 01380 725670. Note that some restrictions may be in place, particularly in areas that are designated as a Site of Special Interest (SSI) but we will help you find a suitable site. We ask for a minimum donation of £100 to the Trust, to help continue the work of caring for the county’s wildlife and wild places for future generations to enjoy. Thank you for choosing to support Wiltshire Wildlife Trust in memory of your loved one.
