Wild Figures

A new programme open to adults aged aged 19+ who have not achieved a level 2 maths qualification, (GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent) or who feel they are no longer working at this level.

Funded by Wiltshire Council, the first course will run at Green Lane Wood in Trowbridge.

The programme includes a free six-week outdoors course, including a range of activities to support people’s wellbeing and improve number confidence such as budgeting, supporting children or grandchildren with maths, timekeeping, reading timetables, etc. A chance to relax in nature and practice hands on practical ways such as wildlife ID and monitoring, tree planting, bird and bat box building, green woodworking, mindfulness in nature and journaling.

Free hot lunch will be provided cooked over a campfire. Tea, coffee fruit and biscuits (please bring drinking water).

The programme will run on Mondays from 11-2:30pm starting 4 March 2024. A minibus pickup from Trowbridge and Devizes is available.

If you are interested in taking part, we ask you to complete a numeracy assessment (to ensure you meet the criteria for the programme) as well as an enrolment form for Wiltshire Council and a referral form for our purposes.
