You may not be walking in a winter wonderland this Christmas, but because it is so mild, it is great opportunity to get outside and walk off your Christmas dinner.

So here are our TOP 4 places for a Christmas stroll in the County.

1) Langford Lakes is situated in the South of Wiltshire between Salisbury and Warminster and is a perfect place for bird watchers. In the winter you might be extremely lucky to see the endangered and secretive Bittern.

2) Green Lane Wood is in the centre of the County and is the perfect reserve for a family stroll, with wheelchair and pushchair access and dogs welcome on leads. If you visit towards the New Year you maybe in with a chance to see a great spotted woodpecker.

3) Vincients Wood is on the edge of Chippenham and its circular route is great for dog walkers. Vincients Wood is a beautiful woodland walk.

4) Lower Moor Farm is another one of our family friendly reserves in the North of Wiltshire with wheelchair access to one bird hide and dogs being allowed on leads. This reserve has 3 lakes, two brooks and wetland scrapes linked together by boardwalks, woodland and meadows.

I hope you will take a walk on one of our reserves over the Christmas period and be sure to tell us on social media-
