Again, we are offering visitors the chance to join Volunteer Reserve Warden and RAF Blakehill Farm Historian Vince Povey for a tour of the former airfield and learn about its fascinating history.

You will stand on part of the surviving runway from where aircraft and paratroops once left. You will hear more about the airfield's lost infrastructure, discover the secrets of the ROC Nuclear Bunker and be told the story of the sites cold war role, with some important new information for 2018.

Your visit includes a presentation telling the story of the sites development and ongoing legacy along with lunch, displays of relic items found on the site, as well as other items of interest.

Please note this is a full days event - on arrival and following introductions, the guided walk will commence, eventually reaching the Whitworth building where your day's visit will conclude after the presentation.

Wear suitable walking boots - part of the tour involves uneven ground - there is transport available between the tour points for visitors who require assistance.
