The WWT is calling on Wiltshire and Swindon businesses to sign up to the Wiltshire and Swindon Climate Action Network (WiltSCAN) Declaration on Climate Change .  With just a few weeks to go before the start of the UN summit on climate change in Paris, the Trust is asking businesses and public bodies to demonstrate their commitment to reducing their carbon footprint.

The Declaration and the Paris summit will be the focus of the Business to Business Sustainability Forum Breakfast on 10 November 2015 being held at Danone in Trowbridge.  Speakers will include Dr Gary Mantle MBE, Chief Executive of Wiltshire Wildlife Trust and Phil Spring, Carbon Master and Project Manager, Danone Early Life Nutrition.

The Wiltshire Declaration on Climate Change is an opportunity to confirm our commitment to tackling climate change and celebrate the actions already being taken by businesses, both large and small, as well as public bodies.

Gary Mantle, CEO of Wiltshire Wildlife Trust said “The Trust is committed to tackling climate change. That is why we were early signatories of the Wiltshire Declaration on Climate Change. Now we want more businesses in Wiltshire and Swindon to do the same.  Action on climate change needs to happen at all levels.  As well as a global legally binding agreement in Paris, we need concerted effort by national and local government and by the business community.  In short, we all have a role to play. ”

Phil Spring, Carbon Master and Project Manager at Danone Early Life Nutrition, says: “At Danone, we recognise that as a company we have a responsibility to do what we can to reduce our environmental footprint. A key part of this is to work on the sustainability of our raw materials. It is important for us to work in partnerships across the food chain, taking a fully collaborative approach. We are therefore pleased to be able to welcome the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust in discussing such an important topic.”

The Wiltshire Wildlife Trust Sustainability Forum Breakfast on Climate Change is being held at 8am on 10 November 2015, at Danone Nutricia Early Life Nutrition and Nutricia Ltd, Trowbridge, BA14 4DR. To book a free place visit
