You may know that we were successful at Stage 1 of our Heritage Lottery Fund bid to enable us to purchase 34.5ha of land next to our existing Coombe Bissett Nature reserve near Salisbury.  This awarded us a Development Grant to enable us to develop our plans more fully to inform a Stage 2 application.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the consultation and public survey during the Stage 2 Development Phase and has supported our Appeal to raise the necessary match funding.  The results of the public survey and consultation have been very valuable and have fed into the detailed plans for our Stage 2 application.

Our Stage 2 application has now been submitted to the Heritage Lottery Fund.  We should hear in autumn 2017 whether the application is successful and, if so, that funding has been approved to enable us to secure the land as a public nature reserve - the purchase will double the size of the current reserve and enable us to restore this important block of chalk grassland.  The project will also enable us to provide a broad programme of volunteering, training and community engagement opportunities focused on the expanded reserve.
