On Saturday 26th September Wiltshire Wildlife Trust bought the country to town, with its Country Comes to Town event in Devizes. From 10am to 4pm, visitors to Devizes found the Market Place packed with wildlife experiences and activities, food and cooking, children’s activities and demonstrations.

Along with meeting some of the Trusts precision grazing team of cows and sheep from the Trusts farms, visitors were able to have a go at some country crafts and explore their creative side with natural art, get involved in identifying wildlife, find out about growing their own food and make a pizza.

Staff from the Trust were there to take visitors through the various projects that the Trust has including Magnificent Meadows and Wild Connections.

Membership manager, Michele Gard, said “Locals and visitors alike seemed to really enjoy meeting our rare breed Herdwick sheep and Dexter cattle and it was great to be able to demonstrate how important they are to maintaining our Magnificent Meadows. The day was a great success”.

The Trust also held their AGM and annual Volunteer Awards at St Andrews Church in Devizes.
