Langford Lakes Watch Group

See below for Watch events.

Wildlife Watch groups give children aged 5 -13 the opportunity to discover local wildlife.  We provide practical activities like bat walks, pond dipping, creating homes for wildlife and campaigning to protect our environment.  Children have lots of fun being nature detectives and making new friends whilst making a real difference to wildlife in Wiltshire.

Our newest Watch Group is at our beautiful reserve Langford Lakes – the first session was held in May 2016 and the group is going from strength to strength. Helen Nicholson and Sarah Tribe run the group and have so far organised activities including pumpkin carving, campfire cooking, bird-watching, river-dipping and an evening bat walk.

A small charge is made for activities and Watch members receive a discount.  Activities are promoted on our website and through our monthly enews.  Booking is usually required as we are often oversubscribed.

All our Wildlife Watch groups are supported by Wiltshire Wildlife Trust.  The groups operate within a monitored framework of child welfare and safety and all leaders undergo a thorough recruitment process to check their suitability to work with young people. Groups meetings are usually held once a month for a couple of hours during weekends or evenings.  Group sizes and age ranges vary between groups
