We're pleased to report encouraging progress with the Planning and Infrastructure Bill. Our chalk streams amendment, now numbered as Amendment 147, remains very much alive and will be debated in Parliament this September. The Bishop of Norwich, The Earl of Caithness, Viscount Trenchard, and Baroness Parminter will champion this vital cause, arguing passionately for the protection our chalk streams desperately need.

There is growing cross-party support, and the amendment now has backing from two Conservative MPs and a Liberal Democrat joining forces  – a testament to how this issue transcends party politics and speaks to our shared responsibility to safeguard these precious habitats.

We continue to work alongside the Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts to look at the wider Planning and Infrastructure Bill and proposed amends.

Thank you for standing with us as we work to secure lasting protection for these irreplaceable ecosystems.

We'll keep you updated as we approach the September debates. Together, we can save our chalk streams.
