Love Your Local Nature Reserve: Rediscover the Wildlife on you Doorstep at Bay Meadows

Four years ago, hundreds of supporters came together to save a piece of land on the fringes of Marlborough for nature and people. Today, that space is slowly reclaiming its magic, and we invite you to discover it for yourself and fall in love with this local nature reserve.

Events to Deepen Your Connection

This Spring as part of our Love Your Local Nature Reserve campaign, we’ve curated a series of events designed to help you see Bay Meadows through a new lens.

We’ve mapped the walking route from the center of Marlborough directly to the reserve. Look out for our maps around town and follow the trail to your local wild refuge.

Drop-in Volunteer Day

Saturday 21 February

We believe that the best way to truly love a nature reserve is to help it thrive. This February, we are hosting a Drop-in Volunteer Day for anyone who wants to try their hand at conservation - no experience required.

If you can't make this event but want to get involved, our volunteer group meets each month at the reserve - come by on Tuesday 24 and get stuck in.

A Legacy for the Future

Bay Meadows is a story of community action, but that story isn't over. To keep this habitat flourishing—restoring the riverbanks, protecting our water voles, and keeping the reserve accessible for everyone—we need your help.

We are aiming to raise £3,000 this month. With your help, we can continue restoring habitats, inspiring young naturalists, supporting local wildlife, and protecting this rare chalk-stream landscape long into the future.

If everyone who loves Marlborough gave just a small gift, we could ensure that this reserve remains a place of peace and beauty for generations to come.
