Reports to:     Milestones Programme Manager

Hours:             15 hours per week over 2 days (ideally including Mondays)

Based in:         Devizes with work in Trowbridge and Swindon

Salary:             £9,672 pro rata (FTE: £24,180) 

The Milestones project is a part of Our Bright Future, an ambitious and innovative partnership led by The Wildlife Trusts which brings together the youth and environmental sectors.

This project specifically aims to connect vulnerable and marginalised young people aged 11-24 to their local, natural environment by offering opportunities to participate in practical nature based activities and widen their knowledge and appreciation of local green spaces. In addition, this approach aims to have beneficial effects on emotional and physical wellbeing, behaviour and social integration.

As an Education and Wellbeing Officer, you will work to develop and deliver an engaging and meaningful programme of nature-based activities which allows young people to develop their understanding and appreciation for the natural environment.

You will be excellent at building positive relationships with young people from a diverse array of backgrounds and with a wide variety of needs. You will be confident in maintaining close partnerships with schools, colleges and a range of referral agencies across Swindon and Wiltshire.

Experience of leading or supporting environmental activities for children and/or young adults is essential for this role.  Most importantly, you will be an excellent communicator with a positive attitude who is able who think on their feet, enjoys a challenge and has the ability to convey your enthusiasm for the natural environment.

Post holders will be subject to a DBS check.
