About the event

This BioBlitz isn't just about boosting our knowledge of the amazing species at Langford Lakes! It's also a brilliant chance for Wiltshire Wildlife Trust to show everyone the incredible wildlife that thrives here thanks to the work we do. Visitors are welcome to come along and see the BioBlitz in action and learn about the fascinating recording process – all without disturbing our expert recorders. We'll have engaging events, talks, and guided walks happening on both days, with opportunities for people of all ages to get involved in citizen science activities.

Here's a sneak peek at what we'll be focusing on:

Saturday: We'll be exploring the world of botany and flowering plants, spotting our feathered friends with birds and owls, looking for mammals, discovering the beauty of moths and spiders, and investigating the tiny creatures in our freshwater invertebrates. Plus, join us for a special bat survey and walk starting at 8:00 PM!

Sunday: We'll continue our search for mammals and owls, keep an eye out for more birds, and delve into the fascinating world of mosses. Wiltshire Wildlife Trust staff will also be leading guided walks in the morning and afternoon, offering insights into the site's wildlife.
