Managing flooding within the Farmed Landscape
Orchard Hill Meeting Room
Chippenham SN15 5AS, SN15 5AS
About the event
A chance to meet our experts in flood mitigation in the farmed landscape, and listen to an informative talk on a variety of tested methods to manage landscapes amidst the threat of flooding.
The evening will explore the idea of Natural Flood Management and how interventions can be used at a number of scales to reduce flood risk (all the way form small in field interventions to wetland creation).
The event will also specifically focus on how woodland and trees can be used to effectively mitigate the threat of flooding.
There will be a variety of landowners, ecologists and farm cluster teams joining with plenty of time for discussion and networking.
We will also explore how the restoration of wet features such as Ghost Ponds (ancient ponds which can be restored ) can form part of this.
