Experience Ancient Nature at Your Own Pace 

We are opening the gates of Great Wood to invite you into a world of towering canopies, hidden wildlife, and centuries of history. Our Open Days offer the perfect way to experience this wonderul ancient woodland at your own pace. Wander through the winding trails at your leisure. Take in the sights and sounds of one of our most precious habitats. 

At 11am our Conservation Lead for the North will provide a brief introduction to the wood history and share insider tips on the specific flora and fauna to keep an eye out for during your walk. From rare insects to seasonal wildflowers, learn what makes this site a vital sanctuary for local biodiversity.
