Thank you!

Thank you for donating to save and restore Great Wood.

Thank you for your generous donation in helping us to save and restore Great Wood. Your support will help us to make Great Wood a fantastic place for nature to thrive and secure the future of one of the county’s few remaining large ancient woodlands.

The stunning array of flora, birds, and mammals supported by ancient woodlands include many rare and specialist species such as the wood white, pearl-bordered fritillary and purple emperor butterflies, and birds such as the willow warbler. With your help, we will restore Great Wood to a fully functioning ancient woodland ecosystem, increasing biodiversity whilst ensuring it is more resilient to the impacts of climate change.

Establishing a programme of community engagement activities that will continue long into the future will also be a key part of the project. Great Wood will offer a tremendous place for local communities to enjoy nature, relax, learn and volunteer on guided activities.

At this early stage of the appeal, we are urgently seeking £120,000 to carry out all the work needed to reverse nature’s decline and improve Great Wood’s diverse habitats for wildlife.

We are excited to see this project come to fruition. Thank you for being part of creating the legacy of a lifetime, helping us to save one of the few ancient woodlands left in Wiltshire.
