Connecting People with Nature Fund

£1,673 of £50,000 goal

We are at a critical moment for both nature and people. The world around us is changing fast: climate pressures, habitat loss and busy modern lives are pulling people—and nature—apart. But there is hope. With your support, the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust can bring nature back into people’s daily lives — and give wildlife everything it needs to recover.

When you donate to the Connecting People with Nature Fund, you’re doing more than protecting countryside or wildlife reserves. You're giving people — children, families, adults — a space to breathe, to belong, to heal, and to re-discover the wild world that sustains us all.

But there is another, deeper impact: by giving people the opportunity to experience and care for nature, we nurture a community — a network of people committed to protecting wildlife and wild places. This creates a powerful, lasting voice for nature’s recovery in Wiltshire and beyond.

By donating today, you’re helping to ensure that:

  • Nature remains accessible to everyone — from children on a school visit to adults seeking calm, to volunteers restoring chalk streams or planting wildflowers.
  • The next generation grows up loving wildlife — and with the knowledge of the benefits it can have and the confidence to defend it.
  • Communities become greener, healthier, more resilient — grounded in a deeper connection to the natural world.

Your support will help us to:

  • Expand our community outreach programmes and work locally to enhance neighbourhoods.
  • Create "Wild Wellbeing" resources and workshops that focus on the therapeutic benefits of nature, incorporating activities like mindfulness in nature, nature-based art therapy, and forest bathing to improve mental and emotional health.
  • Grow our Young Ambassador Programme to help young people integrate nature into their lives and learn how to support wildlife.
  • Host events and talks to ensure the natural environment is accessible and interesting for a growing and diverse community across Wiltshire and Swindon.
