LGBTQ+ Inclusive Evening Walks
About the event
The wellbeing team are delighted to be piloting a new series of LGBTQ+ inclusive evening walks in Swindon, created in conjunction with Swindon LGBT Socials group. These gentle, informal walks are a chance for LGBTQ+ people and allies to enjoy time outdoors, connect with nature and meet others in a friendly, relaxed setting.
The four-week pilot will take place on Tuesday evenings from 6.00pm to 7.30pm, starting on 25th August, along the Railway Walk. There is no need to register in advance - you can simply come along as you are, with suitable footwear and clothing for an evening walk.
The walks will be friendly and low-pressure, with space to walk, talk, listen or simply enjoy being outside. We hope the pilot will help us learn how future nature-based wellbeing activities can feel even more welcoming, inclusive and accessible for local LGBTQ+ communities.
We’ll also be at Swindon Pride on 15 August, where we’ll have a Wiltshire Wildlife Trust stall and will be making flower crowns. Please do come and say hello - we’d love to meet people, share more about the walks and hear your ideas and thoughts.
