Autumn Appeal: Two irreplaceable nature reserves. One chance to protect them.
There are places that stay with us. The spot you first glimpsed a kingfisher. The hide that gave you peace enough to hear birdsong. A quiet walk beside the water at dawn. A place to pause, breathe and feel connected to the wild.
Langford Lakes and Lower Moor Farm are two of those places.
And this autumn, you can help us make them even more special for more people.
We’ve secured significant funding through the Landfill Communities Fund to improve both reserves. To access this funding, we need to raise essential £10,000 Contributing Third Party (CTP) payments — donations that don’t fund the projects directly but unlock the full value of the grants.
Every £1 you give could have ten times the impact.
Help open up Langford Lakes for all
At Langford Lakes, we want to remove barriers between people and wildlife.
A huge thank you to everyone who has already supported our Boardwalk Appeal at Langford Lakes. Your generosity means we can begin work to create an accessible way through the muddy ground near the Sand Martin hide.
However, to complete the boardwalk and create a circular path around the whole lake, we need your help to unlock further funding.
We’re now asking for your help to make this final step possible.
Every donation will bring us closer to allowing visitors to access new areas all year round.
Help more people discover the magic of Lower Moor
At Lower Moor Farm, we want to make it easier for everyone to experience the wildlife and beauty of this special place.
Our plans for a brand new visitor hub, new paths and interpretation will open up more of the reserve, while benches will give visitors the chance to stop, take a moment with the views and simply enjoy the peace and that irreplaceable feeling of being surrounded by nature.
By donating to our Autumn Appeal, you can help us unlock the vital final funding this exciting project needs and help these visitor improvements become a reality.
How does this work?
Landfill site operators pay a tax when they bury waste. Some of this money goes into the Landfill Communities Fund and we can apply for this to help fund high-impact conservation work. To release a grant, the landfill operator requires a Contributing Third Party (CTP) payment. This payment is separate from the grant itself and enables the funding to be released to the environmental project.
Every £1 you give unlocks around £10:
- £10 helps unlock around £100
- £25 helps unlock around £250
- £50 helps unlock around £500
- £100 helps unlock around £1,000
CTP donations are paid to the landfill operator and as these donations do not directly fund the charitable project, they are not eligible for Gift Aid.
