River Fly Monitoring
Riverfly monitors go out once a month to monitor invertebrate communities using a method developed by The Riverfly Partnership.
The Wylye Chalk Stream Project has been successful in the second round of the Government’s Landscape Recovery scheme.
The river lamprey is a primitive, jawless fish, with a round, sucker-mouth which it uses to attach to other fish to feed from them. Adults live in the sea and return to freshwater to spawn.
