Fishing on the River Wylye
Did you know that you can fly fish on the River Wylye?
Part of a large woodland complex on the River Avon and Kennet & Avon Canal.
Wiltshire Wildlife Trust has announced that its free family-friendly event Country Comes to Town will take place in Swindon in May.
The river lamprey is a primitive, jawless fish, with a round, sucker-mouth which it uses to attach to other fish to feed from them. Adults live in the sea and return to freshwater to spawn.
One of the only venomous fish to be found in British waters, the lesser weever fish is certainly one to watch out for!
The Wylye Chalk Stream Project has been successful in the second round of the Government’s Landscape Recovery scheme.
